Welcome to Our Story
The Crack’d Pot Restaurant & Bakery in Sioux Falls was founded in 1974 by the Smith Family and was part of a chain of restaurants known as Truck Haven Cafe’s & Crack’d Pot Restaurants! A Midwestern staple in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s having over a dozen locations throughout several states including South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin!
In the Early 1960’s Kurt Andersen and his wife Carol began working for the Smith’s and Truck Haven Cafe’s. In 1992, Kurt & Carol along with their two sons Mike & Kevin purchased our current location from the Smith family. In 2008, the final Truck Haven Cafe located in Sioux City closed its doors, and since then we are the final location left of what was an amazing chain of restaurant’s.
In 2005, Mike Andersen, the eldest son of Kurt & Carol Andersen became our current owner and operator. Mike’s son, Alex Andersen, is now the General Manager and future owner.
In 2024, we are celebrating our 50th anniversary and we hope to serve Sioux Falls for another 50 years.
